The borent split from its ancestor the slikent. It has move up into the cold boreal region of Yokto. To survive here it had to become more stout. It body stores up a lot of fat to stay warm and it grazes on the abundant sunstalks and sometimes the hibernating carnoferns when the tunkis have not eaten them all. They are brown, white and black to blend in with the brown dirt, white snow and black flora. They have black lines under their 4 eyes to reduce glare from the snow. Their "butt-nostril" has gotten shorter to keep it warm as well as its ears. Its toes have turned into pro-hoofs so it can walk around the steep terrain better. The 6th toe on its back legs are now a heel spike which can be use to kick at any predators that might want to bit its"butt-nostril" or tail. They also have developed tusks on their bottom jaw to help them uproot flora to eat. This helps when they are covered under snow in the winter.
They travel in small herds of 10 to 20. They have gotten a little dumber than their ancestors since they must focus more on finding food than socialization. Males will fight with their tusks over females. Males mark their territory the strong smelling urine they produce from pores in their skin. Each herd only has one adult male. The other males go off on their own and only meet to challenge the alpha male of the herd during mating season. If rival males meet each other they will make loud hooting sounds with its "butt-nostrils" and open their mouths wide to try to intimidate the other to back down.
