The cleaner sauceback split from its ancestor, the long eared sauceback. It has left the desert cave and has come out to the desert to specify in cleaning off crusher worms from desert shellwalker's backs. It has gotten smaller so it can ride on the desert shellwalkers. Its tusked have evolved to be more movable like pincers and can pick up crusher worms with ease. Their stomach have also adapted to handle the large amounts of iron within the crusher worms. They will frequently vomit up iron globs to keep from overdosing on iron.
Their hoofs have split into a spade hoof for better griping on the backs of desert shellwalkers. Like their ancestors the saucebacks reliance on sound and smell to find their prey. Thier nostrils and ears are very sensitive and can sense a crusher worm even on a moving desert shellwalker.
Their spiked tail and tusk are used to defend against brutish lizardworms. They will tend to run away than fight them. They can run very fast with their hoofed feet.
