The emperor gilltail split from its ancestor and spread upwards. They are twice the size of their ancestor and have double the number of flashing spots. Their diets have become less specialized, eating most organisms it can. Sometimes, it has been known to feed on its smaller ancestor. It has completely out competed them in the abyss zone, leaving only small pockets on the bottom of the ocean.
