The fire sapsucker split from its ancestor the skimming sapsucker it followed the armored leapdweller to the lightning trees and arborai trees where they would puncture their bark with their spade feet which would release the sap for them to drink. Their color blends in with the purple trees and swarms of them stay close to the armored leapdwellers. Their hydrogen bubble is much smaller now while their wings are much larger. They use these wings to fly away fast in case of a file. Which frequently happens with these trees. They do not always fly away however and will take the chance to lap up the sap of trees on fire or when they fall down. This relationship the armored leapdwellers and the fire sapsucker has developed to the point that they only mate if there is a tree dweller nearby.
