The island diamistal split from its ancestor the diamiboard and inhabited the beaches of Ittiz Island. For millions of years some diamiboards were swept into the beaches of the mainland as well as to the island. Because the mainland’s beaches are filled with local flora it has hard time to out-compete there and survive. Therefore they evolved in the island beach which was rather empty. It now grows on the beaches rotted to the soil, also feeding on microorganisms in the sand. It lost its gas bladder for it no longer needs it. It comes in many different forms, from wider to taller diamond like bodies. It produces airborne spores which are jettisoned from the tip of the crystal. It has grown many times its ancestors’ size because of island gigantism.
