The murderous vreselijk has split from its ancestor and returned to the taiga. Now, at the size of 60 cm, it lives solitary for most of its life, the exclusion being the quarter of a year used as mating season. It has become nocturnal, and will dig deep burrows during the last hours of night. These burrows may be as deep as 3 meters. it has got its name from its hunting technique. It will sneak into a ghastrish burrow and kill and devour the ghastrish, eating the young and the old last. Its ears have enlarged and grown long hair-whiskers, on the outside of the ear, to help it detect the stirring of the ghastrish. Its teeth have become pointed to assist with their hunting and many have their teeth stained green from the blood.
