The red phantomsquid has split from its ancestor, and populate Jujubee Ocean's twilight zone. The red phantomsquid was created because of a mutation that got rid of the ability to change color, forcing it to remain a red color. Most creatures that live in the twilight zone can only see blue and green colors, making the red phantomsquid nearly invisible. This makes it harder for predators to find them, resulting in the red phantom squids flourishing.
Like their ancestor they feed on microscopic organisms that float through the water. They slowly swim through the water to conserve energy, and will quickly speed away using their jets if a predator is heading towards them. They mate during every full moon.
