The supershroom has replaced its ancestor. Since it was under constant attack by the anti-sticky plague, it had to gain an absolute immune system against it. This meant that not only has it replaced the cropshroom, but it has also driven the anti-sticky plague to extinction.
Unlike its ancestor, it can live without tending, though tending from the diggerundi does give the species an extra boost. It can also live on the surface, which gives it an advantage. It has even become twice its size since it can live on the surface.
The supershroom has spread out into the Huggs Rainforest, Huggs and Yokto Temperate Forests, Bone and Slarti Swamps, and the Huggs and Yokto Marshes of eastern Glicker. This has allowed diggerundi populations to spread out into Huggs Scrub and Huggs Rainforest. The shroom-thief plents have returned to the Huggs Temperate Forest and have even claimed the Yokto Temperate Forest, the Huggs Scrub, and the Huggs Rainforest.
