The vitesenza replaced its ancestor the janitworm. The vitesenza has several adaptations that allowed it to out compete its ancestor. First is it has a body that is much closer to the ground so the soil it spits out gets to the ground quicker. Second is that it now has a broader diet allowing it to grow larger and in larger numbers. The last reason is its speed, the vitesenza can out maneuver predators and escape to its hiding hole quicker. The vitesenza now live in pairs and mate for life.
