The '''barkskin''' replaced its ancestor, the [[sansakuoki]]. They have developed woody bark all over its body. This protects it from predators but reduces it photosynthesis. To compensate it has become more active and must feed all the time. They no longer stop moving when they get older, however they are not very fast when moving to begin with. Its back leaves have merged into a single sail hanging from a head crest and ending at the butt-nostril. Its ears have reformed on either side so it can listen for predators better.
Like their ancestors they eat the [[Forest Demonshroom|forest demonshrooms]] in order to build up poison in their bodies. They no longer collect water through their butt-nostrils since many could not empty them properly when trying to breathe again. They bring all food into their mouth via a prehensile tongue. On the end it has finger-like graspers.
