Ancestor:Descendants:

The box teproutine replaced its ancestor within Yokto Dunes. Their scientific name translates to, approximately, "wasted box". The box teproutine's hard "head" has grown, covering more of the creature. This head allows the creature to both withstand the hot days and cold nights of the Yokto Dunes. During the day box teproutine stay near warmer layers of sand near (but not at) the surface of the dunes, where its rocky-like head gets heated. At night they will sink into the dunes; here they will hunt and be kept warm by the retained heat within the head.
