The '''braid root''' has split from its ancestor, the [[Tangle Root|tangle root]]. While it still floats on top of the water like its ancestor, its form has changed. The braid root’s center has grown wider than the tangle root, giving it a large area to photosynthesize. To balance the top, the leaves have grown longer and formed a large cord. Although this cord can photosynthesize to some degree, it now acts more as a root, drawing nutrients and water into the plant.
