Ancestor:Descendants:

The Buttress Treeworm replaced its ancestor, the Joint-Winged Treeworm on Glicker. It has grown to twice its ancestors size to compete with the other huge trees in the rainforest. However to keep the trunk from breaking or falling over it has developed 4 Buttress to keep up the 2 trunks. In addition each tree has twice as many leaves to absorb even more sunlight.

Because the genes required for legs is gone, the larvae will have to squirm to their plantation site. Another change is their tail has thick muscles to support it. Like their ancestral forms, joint-winged treeworms have a root-like tongue. It has about ten protrusions. They depend on the buttress bambelin for pollination.
