The cave ferrumtime split from its ancestor, the ferrumtine, and has moved to the Wright sea caves and water tables. Its four flagellum have spaced out, and are now used to anchor the organism to the walls of the caves and to absorb nutrients. If an area is to crowded, though, the cave ferrumtime will use its flagellum to push off of the wall and into the water, moving to new locations, feeding on the iron in the water until it runs into rock.
