Replacing its ancestor, the cilioboro lost the “jaw” of its ancestor that was useless for all but the smallest of cells or particles that didn’t need a “jaw” anyway. Instead, it uses its numerous cilia and two flagella to reach very fast (cellular) speeds, and “bore” right into cells that it may hit, killing them and popping the membrane so that cilioboro may adsorb the nutrients at leisure. Other then this, it has changed little from its ancestor, and still uses conjugation to exchange genetic material with other cells of the same species.
