The Cryxus replaced it's ancestor. The cryxus is twice as big as it's ancestor with a more extensive root system. There roots penetrate so deep that they tap into the Yokto Water Table. The cryxus is unique from it's ancestor in that the crystal formations are much more diverse, and cracks and torn pieces of it's bark get repaired with crystal 'plates'. It's root system is also far more effective at capturing microbes for food.
