Ancestor:Descendants:

Dulcisagania split from its ancestor and adapted to life in BioCat River. To cope with the high salinity level, the cell uses sugar from the photosynthesis cycle to neutralize itself. There are some other changes from its ancestor also, firstly the cell has evolved a cellwall to minimize salt intake and the cell is not built up in "layers" like its ancestor.

Living Relatives (click to show/hide)

These are randomly selected, and organized from lowest to highest shared taxon. (This may correspond to similarity more than actual relation)
  • Kyanoses (family Kyanosaganaceae)
  • Cryophytes (class Cryosaganopsida)
