Ancestor:Descendants:

Finear ghastchomps have adapted to feed upon the new species of bubblehorn in the caverns, which are known as the flanged bubblehorns. The way they stand has changed, and now they move more often throughout the caverns, using their highly adapted ears to listen for their prey's crawling on the grounds. The increase in usage of their ears has left their eyes even less useful, which have atrophied even more than their ancestor.

Their new stance has highly decreased their ability to scale the walls to escape their predators, and so they now have grown much stronger muscles within their hindlegs, and they will use to leap away from prey, utilizing their ears and the sound of dripping water and other sounds ahead of them to properly navigate, generally fleeing into nearby water to try to keep away from their potential killers, where they may move as little as possible once far enough from the shore and deep enough in the water to cover a significant amount of their bodies, intending for the sound of the water to disguise their exact location until, hopefully, the predator gives up.

Their main wooden tooth has become far more rounded, allowing it to more easily crush the shells of bubblehorns to more easily feed upon their kind, as has their smaller teeth as well. They will still feed on the ylbershpelle bubblehorn when they come across them if hungry enough, but do not as actively seek them out for sustenance as they do for flanged bubblehorns.
