The hunched turtsnapper replaced its ancestor, the turtsnapper in the Huggs-Yokto Savanna. It has specialized in eating the crystalwalker and the crystalwalker crystal. It has grown an extremely strong beak and neck muscles to bite through the hard crystals. It front legs are longer and can be used as hand to pry apart the crystals. It even as an opposable thumb in order to hold on to its prey better when it walks it "knuckle walks".
Its shell is lighter so it can run away from predators faster. Its top 3rd pair of eyes no longer see and have developed into a tympanic membrane that can pick up vibrations and primitive sounds. Males have their tympanic crests colored red-orange to help attract mates. Those which the larger, brighter crests are chosen.
Rather than depending upon water to lay their eggs they will lay their eggs on the outside of their shells. each egg is sticky and will stay stuck there until it hatches. When it hatches the eggs fall off and the babies run off. They are solitary creatures who only meet when mating. They do not raise their young. They also will dig burrows in the ground or take over abandon tunnels from other burrowing fauna.
