Irinya Canyon was craved from centuries of erosion of the Irinya River. It is located at the intersection point of Darwin High Desert and the Darwin High Grasslands. At it's lowest point, it is about 300 meters down. It is home to various phlyer species, which use the high, isolated cliffs to protect their young from predators.
