The iron colony split from its ancestor, the colony cell. This happened when a group of colony cells found their way into the Ovi Water Table from Ovi Lake. There, it was dark, so their photosynthetic cells couldn’t photosynthesize, and died off. When the cells tried to absorb new ones, though, they absorbed microforts. They adapted to control these cells like their former photosynthetic cells, and now are lithovores, floating through the iron-rich water. Successful in Ovi Water Table, they spread to Hydro and Ittiz Water Tables.
