Ironweb split off from its ancestor irontangle. It now has developed a colonial lifestyle in the branches of the mega orbitree. Each individual is around 14 cm long but together create a web up to 1 meter wide. They grow in this sticky web to catch flying fauna such as vilolet glowlickers. Once stuck the colony will absorb it until nothing is left but bones. Those on the end anchoring the web will suck out sap from the mega orbitree. In fact they will secrete an enzyme into the sap that cause the mega orbitree to absorb more iron from the ground and thus nourish the entire colony as they share their parasitic or carnivorous feeding methods. Their webbing is very strong because of the iron. However it makes them very heavy. Some branches may droop if too many colonies grow on them. Larger creatures such as the neckeye may knock off the light sticky spores which will stick to them and thus spread the spores to other mega orbitrees.
