Ancestor:Descendants:

The leaflower is a better adapted form that has replaced its ancestor, the leafstalk and spread into the Yokto Marsh (where it has also replaced the orange spore stalk) thanks to its characteristic leaves, the lower set of which provide a much larger area for photosynthesis then its ancestor as well as being easily regrown should they be eaten or freeze off during winter, while the upper set acting as a flower around a center stalk that produces spores. In Yokto Temperate Forest, this flower attracts sporivorous dartir which act as a method to spread the spores, while in the Yokto Marsh, the leaflower is tall enough for its spores to be dispersed by wind. In addition, it has developed a root structure over the simple tuber of its ancestor.
