The '''maggot waterworm''' split from its ancestor and doubled in size. It now lives in the muck under the water, wriggling around slowly in search of dead stuff. The vicious looking beak is used to ward off the [[Bullying Waterworm|bullying waterworm]], who often already is found grouping and tearing into the dead body that the maggot waterworm has chosen. It also has thick skin and tiny eyes to make damage from fighting bullying waterworms minimal. To defend against attacks from above it now has a spine cluster that can be rotated instead of the single spine of its ancestor. They are very peaceful, slow moving creatures.
