At 13 cm long no other mobile creature in the vents can defend itself against the marocta and it’s the mighty spikes of the marocta. It has also evolved two larger spike-limbs in order to rip [[ventrapper]]s off and impale its prey keeping it near its mouth for further digestion. Another evolution is the 8 tiny eyes inside its large mouth used for scouting the vents looking for glowing creatures like the [[Dark Swarmer|dark swarmers]] and ventrappers and something the [[xxeljet]]s that follow them to feed on. Because its eyes are often in contact with digesting materials and digested food they fall off and replace about once each month. |
