The ovi island carpozoan guttoplaque replaced its ancestor on Ovi Island. It is now a stiff crescent shape and the inner edge is lined with cilia. It swims in fast circles absorbing food particles with the outer edge, this movement churns stomach fluids and aids in digestion.
