The giant pambu and hairy pambu really competed for space, so some evolved into a semi-aquatic lifestyle. They grow on the shores and shallows of the neighboring Ovi-Nuke freshwater Lake. It has shrunken in size a bit and lost many of its side leaves, but it still has a tuft of leaves on the top. Its small berries, which were hardly seen before, have grown much larger into full-fledged fruit. This fruit is eaten by herbivores of both the neighboring rainforest and savanna, since they all come to the lake to drink. Its roots also form an almost mangrove-like position.
