The '''Pioneer Raftballs''' has split from the [[Colonialballs]] genus and has spread across immense parts of the global oceans and seas of Sagan 4. Like
As members of this species bud off repeatedly within the colony, some drift away to begin new colonies whilst others continue to clump onto the existing colony increasing it in size. Each globe grows roots to collect nitrogen, which fuse with other individual roots over time whilst distributing nutrients throughout the colony equally. Pioneer Raftballs are also known to form symbiosis with Diaminets, and often compete on the open waters with the [[Colonial Bobiiro]] for nutrients.
