Ancestor:Descendants:

The pitiful barb split from its ancestor, the yanimalius probisucker and shrank to half its size. It lost its flagella and relies on the tiny pocket of gas that it keeps in its now hollow middle proboscis. The side proboscises have been stretched across the sides of the cell and are now slate like, purely used for photosynthesis. To combat extinction in its now seemingly helpless state the pitiful barb now reproduces at very high levels (200 generations every day, reproduction ceases at night).
