The rusted sauceback split from its ancestor, the lightfoot sauceback. This came about when some lightfoot saucebacks from the Ittiz Rocky moved into Clayren Beach via the small section of rockies that touch the beach area. Most of the organisms in this environment are quite small, and the rusted sauceback has evolved to be small as well. This helps it to sneak up on its prey easier. It gets its name from the rusty color of its body (which helps it blend in with the rusty color of the sand). Though its ancestors were great hunters in the rocky and alpine regions, the rusted sauceback does not have as ample a food supply for its size, and the size of sauceback family groups has shrunken.
