The salt sprout split from its ancestor, the orange spore sprout. It has returned to a semi-aquatic lifestyle, but this time in the BioCat River. It can tolerate extreme amounts of salt as well as change in temperature. During the cold winters when the river is frozen it stays dormant. Then when spring comes around and the river melts it releases its spores into the water. Those spore grow quickly since the water will soon dry up by summer. In summer they are in a half dormant state depending upon how much salt has built up on them. Then by fall the rains have returned and they get one more period where they can get the energy they need before the water freezes again for the winter.
