The savanna spire split from it's ancestor, savanna shards. After organisms started to stop living near the savanna spire's ancestor, it had more room to grow. Around this time the crystal were experiencing a mutation from intense radiation exposure from the sun, that caused the center of the shard clusters to become more dense. With more room and a core that could better support a tall structure in it's center, this crystals ancestor grew a central spire in order to spread out the radiation from the sun. This group of mutated savanna shards then became savanna spires.
