Ancestor:Descendants:

The seep pyamus replaced its ancestor, the Blarg pyamus. It has developed a set of filtering organs that suck in water around the bottom and then spits out the water out the top. Since it sucks in everything it also now can feed on the methane microbes in the water as well as methane itself. It also takes advantage of this constant spewing of water out its top by releasing its spores in the same way. It can reproduce asexually or sexually if another seep pyamus sucks in its spores to fertilize them. Its respiratory system has also improved a lot and it can tolerate high levels of methane, thus it can sit within the seep without suffocating. The constant suction among a large colony of these constantly pulls in oxygen rich water from above. The silty brine it sits in is toxic to most other creatures but it has become extremely efficient in expelling the excess salt out the top.
