Splitting from their ancestors, the shoalrorm descended deeper into the oceans. Just like their ancestor, they filter zooplankton as they go along the current. Slightly larger than their ancestor, both their "mouth" and "spiny" fins can be folded up to reduce drag in the event of predation. They are known to form shoals of tens of thousand individuals. Like their ancestor, their skin is covered in tiny speckles that glint in the sunlight, breaking up the outline of individuals in a shoal and thus providing some protection from predators. They can be found deep within the ocean, going far down to depth where no predators exist.
