The sighted speck split from its ancestor the chlorocytus and doubled in size. The cell body has flattened and lengthened and is now also used for swimming. The organelle used for sensing light has become huge and black, it can now sense light, dark, and motion. This gives it a huge advantage over its predators and competition.
