The slum have replaced both the grassprint and the hophorn in the area. They have changed a lot from their ancestors and now have no head crest or horn. They now live in herds of up to 25, and when a predator comes the adults will usually surround the young and stand on their tails with their feet towards the predator. There will usually be three of these circles because of the large herd. For mating the males will use their air horns to make a song and females will choose which song they liked best. Choosing an alpha of the herd consists of jumping alongside one another to see who can jump the farthest. They also have formed a fan like tail that helps keep them balanced. Their herds may sometimes travel with kluben for extra protection. They also have grown claws; when predators have a good hold of them they use their claws to scratch out the eyes.
