▲Due to their success, some of the [[slugworm]]s moved out into the surrounding savanna. On the rich pickings of the grasses and dead matter, the slugworm very quickly grew much bigger and has evolved into a much more effective ‘hunter’. Its wings now secrete an extremely sticky substance. Whilst feeding on [[Violetgrass]], the worm releases odors into the air, attracting flying worms of all kinds. These worms hit the '''snatching slugworm’s''' wings and get stuck. The individual wing then wraps itself around the victim and brings it to the ground, where the worm eats it. It's thanks to its ancestor’s individual wing movements that it can do this.
