The snow windbulb replaced its ancestor the windbulb. It has adapted to cold and arid environments by developing a waxy outer coating to keep in moisture and of course it still has a bulb root in order to save up energy during droughts. It can also survive very cold temperatures with an antifreeze-like chemical in its leaves. It still reproduces asexually either by budding off its roots or spreading its airborne seeds in the wind.
