The '''tongue swarmer''' split from its ancestor, the [[Cave Swarmer|cave swarmer]], and has adapted greatly to its extreme environment. They now have a protective coating of cellulose to keep their predators at bay. If this doesn't work, their tentacles have fused together with a layer of skin that allow for rapid movement. They feed mainly on the cavern cryosagania that grow near the surface along the ice. Their throats now contain a fleshy mass that acts like a villi coated tongue, allowing them to lap up microbe plumes in the ice or animal waste. Most microbe plumes grow in the cracks of ice at the top of the cave, where the majority of the sunlight is, meaning they would need to feed while upside down. To achieve this, they have a bubble that fills with air on their underside. Since the ice caves will freeze during the winter they have adapted the ability to freeze solid, allowing them to survive the winter. |

The tongue swarmer split from its ancestor, the cave swarmer, and has adapted greatly to its extreme environment.
