The twinkiiros genus group replaced its ancestors, the twinkiiro, pioneer twinkiiro, pioneer trunkiiro, pioneer twinkoheart, pioneer twinkolemon, pioneer twinkorn, pioneer twinkoshroom, pioneer twinkiirobranch and thorny twinkiiro. They are quite similar to their relatives the twinkorals, however they mostly branch off from the trunk rather than the yellow photosynthetic part. Unlike their other relatives the gelatins, they are anchored to the ground rather than free floating.
They live mostly in shallow waters in freshwater and saltwater, and they can survive without water during low tide in the riparian zone and beaches. They are anchored to the soil via a screw-like root which works in symbiosis with the nitrocycle microbes; thus allowing them to spread to barren coastlines and rivers before other flora. Like their ancestor they reproduce via asexual budding and convert violet light into energy with their yellow chloroplasts. They are an important part of many aquatic ecosystems on Sagan 4.
