Ancestor:Descendants:

The vicious barb split from its ancestor, the yanimalius probisucker and doubled in size. It developed a jointed cell wall as a defense from other predators while its photosynthesis is virtually used just for cell wall material production. The two side proboscises lengthened and became jointed, they now are pulled back during swimming and can lunge out at prey during attack, also on the joints it has tufts of organelles used for tracking down prey. The middle proboscis is used to hold prey by impalement.
