The Wedge-Skull has developed from the Shovel-Headed Lizardworm thanks to one main reason: a change in diet. The Wedge-Skull uses the tactic of waiting beneath the sand for prey much more than its ancestors. With the move to a more predator-based lifestyle, this creature has lost some of its strong sense of smell and gained better eyesight for the aboveground world.
