The Wedge-skull has developed from the Shovel-headed Lizardworm thanks to one main reason; a change in diet. The Wedge-skull uses the tactic of waiting beneath the sand for prey much more than its ancestors. With the move to a more predator based lifestyle, this creature has lost some of its strong sense of smell, and gained better eyesight for the aboveground world.
