Ancestor:Descendants:

The wedge-skull has developed from the shovel-headed lizardworm thanks to one main reason: a change in diet. The wedge-skull uses the tactic of waiting beneath the sand for prey much more than its ancestors. With the move to a more predator-based lifestyle, this creature has lost some of its strong sense of smell and gained better eyesight for the aboveground world.
