Most species of Whorls are Filter-Feeders, sifting food from the surrounding water. The only exceptions are the Whorl Needler and the Parasite Whorl. The Whorl Needler injects its prey with a toxic fluid that dissolves it from the inside and allows the whorl needler to drink the remains. The Parasite Whorl is, as its name states, a parasite that feeds off the blood of centifins and seadragolden
Evolution
Locomotion
Whorls use their tails to move. Coastal Whorls and their ancestors spend most of their lives in an immobile, "pod state." They only move when they become mature.

- Free-Swimmers: Free-Swimmers ar the Whorls that spend their whole lives in the open ocean.
- Podlings: Podlings are the Whorls that spead a part or most of their lives in an immobile, "pod state."
- Horrors: Horrors are the Whorls that survive by draining fluids of other creatures.
