The amossethyst replaced its ancestor, the solar sailor, on Vivus Volcanic Island. It no longer goes up into the atmosphere and has grown to 10 times its ancestor's size. Its stalk now grows many leaves and has developed a primitive vascular system. The rich volcanic soil has allowed it to thrive, however it still must compete with the other island flora. It has a more simplistic life cycle now where it grows orange airborne spores at the top of the stalk. It no longer needs to store up hydrogen in its leaves since it's completely terrestrial now. They tend to grow in thick clumps like moss.
