Ancestor:Descendants:

The antler urchip replaced its ancestor the chambered urchip. Its shell has now developed into an antler shape that mimics the antler shrubite it eats. It now specializes in this specific shrubite. Its chambers are now longer and can hold more water. It has developed siphons on each side to take water in and then squirt them out. They also have a special pouch inside them that will hold eggs without disrupting locomotion. Once they hatch they are squirted out the siphons. The main shell is neutrally buoyant with a swim bladder-like chamber than can be filled via the siphons (note that this is a separate chamber than the egg chamber). Like their ancestors it has a beak that produces acidic saliva to dissolve the antler shrubite so it can slurp it up like a straw.
