The arid sapshroom replaced its ancestor the sapshroom. It is nearly unchanged from its ancestor. It feeds on the arid ferine since all other carnofern relatives have been replaced. Like its ancestor its feeds on the sap of its host until it dies. Then as it rots it will consume that too. While it has no pigment itself it will take on a purple hue from the sap it consumes or dark brown when consuming rotting material.
It grows bright pink spore berries which attract frugivores with its bright color. The juice is very sticky and is easily wiped off on trunks of arid ferine by the fauna who eat it. Once on the trunk they produce a dissolving chemical can break through the though bark. They also have retained an antifreeze-like chemical in them to prevent them from freezing in the cold. This helps them both in the tundra and mountains.
