The armored nobom evolved and replaced the iridescent nobom in the Huggs-Yokto Savanna region. Due to the large amount of predators (such as the sailbacked bearhog plent, azeraptor, and leaping sauceback), it has evolved protective wood-like plates all over its body. These plates protect it like a rhino's skin. It still has the iridescent nobom's signature iridescent back sails.
