Ambush Nailfin

The belligerent nailfin split from its ancestor. Due to the fact that there was not enough food in the Detoxic River and Detoxic Marsh, some of the ambush nailfin moved out into the Soma Tropical Sea where there was plenty of food. However it had to adapt to its new environment. The belligerent nailfin gets its name because it has become extremely aggressive and lives a solitary and territorial life. Its body has become more stream-lined, its front flippers have become stronger, and its tail fin is larger; these allow it to navigate through the sea more quickly. In order to eat some of the fauna in the sea, its jaws are much stronger than its ancestors, which allows it to crunch shells of some of its prey including spoisoreths and trapinouts. Since there is plenty of food and no predators to hunt them, they have become much larger than their ancestor. Due to the fact that they are extremely aggressive and have a strong bite, the belligerent nailfin has more wood-armor on its body. Overall, these adaptations have made the belligerent nailfin the apex predator of the Soma Tropical Sea. They reproduce the same way as their ancestor does.
